End of Summer Cookout!

Hello there! Hard to believe summer’s almost over. It’s gone by fast. these past two months have been exciting, helpful and fun. Hopefully not just for me though. However, this saturday night at 6pm we’re having an end of summer cookout! We will have hotdogs and hamburgers and plenty of soda to rot your teef! So hopefully we’ll end this summer on high, high note!

But I must say, I’m even more excited for this fall and winter! Starting in September we’re gonna begin small groups at 6:30 and then we’ll have our normal service at 7:00.

Thanks,
Keifer

Apologies

I apologize for not updating this blog in 2 months, time can get away from you. But God has been doing powerful things in my life and the lives of others around me. We have been busy making the services the best we can and God truly has been moving. We’ve also been planning events to serve our community and shine the light God has given us so that others may see and give glory to our King. Once again I apologize for the delay in posts for this blog, but blogs will be added weekly from now on.

God bless,
keifer

Uncomfortable.

Matthew 28:18-20: Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth, Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

One thing I should tell all of you that are reading this blog and that are planning on attending to not come expecting not to be moved. I’m not saying I will be the one to move you or you’re going to be radically changed every week. But don’t expect to come to this service just to lift some guilt or get yourself out of waking up for a Sunday service. This service is for three things: 1.) people who hate church, 2.) taking Christians deeper into God’s word and 3.) getting outside of the churches walls.

1.) People Who Hate Church: I know a few peeps (yes, peeps) who hate church. Usually, they’ve been burned by some crazy church full of self Christians with logs in their eyes. Or they just feel disconnected from God and have problems connecting in a church. Not just problems connecting with the Pastor or the worship leader but with the body of Christ. So my prayer and plan is creating an environment where everyone feels like family which, that’s the way things should be.

2.) Taking Christians Deeper into God’s Word: I’m big on Theology. I always have been. I’m also big on apologetics. I like to help teach people how to defend their faith in God. So am I saying every week we’ll be devouring theories on Predestination? No. But I feel its necessary to know where to find what in your Bible. I’ve heard Pastor after Pastor, read his text and then spend the next 45  minutes telling funny stories and things that kind of have to do with the bible. That will never be the case here.

3.) Getting Outside of the Churches Walls: once again….

God is calling us to go and change the world in his name. He tells us to go and make disciples of the nations and baptize them. And then he promises us he will always be with us. The main part of this church is acting out. I would like for us to grow together as a family and then grow out. Adding numbers daily to this church. But you can’t just expect everyone to walk into church. Especially in this day and age you have to go out and bring them in.

Move.

I feel like it has been a long time since I’ve sat in a church service and felt God moving. I’m not talking about in my life or in my family, I mean specifically in a church service. I don’t feel him “pressing in”. THIS IS NOT GOD’S FAULT.I don’t feel people being changed around me because no one wants to change. I don’t feel repentance, I don’t feel desire or longing or true worship. I feel like church is full of people who are there out of obligation, to check the Sunday church-going activity off their list for the week. The worship songs are about “me” and usually it’s things that no one is going to follow through, even things as simple as raising their hands. I was at a service tonight where we sang a song that had a line of something to do with “raising your hands to heaven and reaching for God” and everyone was singing but no one raised their hands. Something so small and Biblical as raising your hands (1 Timothy 2:8 “I desire then that in every place the men should pray, lifting holy hands without anger or quarreling;”) couldn’t even be followed through. The songs are hollow (not for the writers, but for the congregation) because no one is willing to act out anymore. Christianity is something we keep secret so we don’t offend people, or so we aren’t embarrassed or, even worse- so we don’t become the “token Christian” at work or at school.

My true desire for Enamored is to be a church that is full of people who attend not of obligation, but of the joy of our hearts. I want Enamored to be a church where people go because they want to be there, they want to be moved, they want to be changed, they want to lift their hands and sing praises to our creator. I want Enamored to be a church of people who want to change their families, their friends, their cities.

Why are Christians getting a bad reputation when all we are supposed to be doing is leading the lost to salvation? Where is our passion? Where is our NEED for a true God? We need this to change. Soon. Now. June fifth. Be there.

1,000’s.

I find myself flabbergasted (107 points in “scabble”) when I read about the church in Acts. I’ll try not to talk too much about this but it’s seriously one of my favorite parts of the Bible.  Of course you probably know the stories about Jesus ascending and leaving the disciples and sending them out, but I ask you to hear me out with a fresh mind set as if you have never read this before and let the Holy Spirit speak new words to you. I’m not going to type it all out for you because that’s too easy and I’m not going to hold your hand, but read chapters 2:41-4:4 in Acts and really let them hit you.

I know a few times in Acts it states that 1,000’s were added daily to the church. I’m not sure we can fit 1,000 people in every part of my church facilities but seriously wow. BUT, it gets better, in these chapters it says a few times that after one of the disciples spoke 3,000 or 5,000 were saved at a time. How crazy is this? This church through the Holy Spirit truly turned the world upside down. This is the kind of church I desire. Not just for my church though for every church. Do you know what would happen if 1,000’s were added daily to churches across America? Do you know what would happen if 1,000’s returned to their first love daily? Do you know what would happen if every time a pastor spoke 5,000 unsaved people finally believed and gave their lives to Christ?

THE WORLD WOULD NEVER BE THE SAME.

Who says this can’t happen again?

-Keifer

First of All.

Hello There! Welcome to the Enamored Church Blog! Here you can read blogs by me (the pastor), get notes from the services, see the set lists from the worship band, collect other valuable learnings and also keep up with what the church is doing mission wise weekly.

Also, on a side note we meet at Eva Drive Baptist Church on Saturday Nights at 7 p.m., starting June 5th.

I would also like to go over my first message and explain what the purpose of this Church is and what I feel God is going to do in this movement.

Romans 12 (I know this is a lot, so brace yourself)

1 And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice — the kind he will accept. When you think of what he has done for you, is this too much to ask? 2 Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will know what God wants you to do, and you will know how good and pleasing and perfect his will really is. 3 As God’s messenger, I give each of you this warning: Be honest in your estimate of yourselves, measuring your value by how much faith God has given you. 4 Just as our bodies have many parts and each part has a special function, 5 so it is with Christ’s body. We are all parts of his one body, and each of us has different work to do. And since we are all one body in Christ, we belong to each other, and each of us needs all the others. 6 God has given each of us the ability to do certain things well. So if God has given you the ability to prophesy, speak out when you have faith that God is speaking through you. 7 If your gift is that of serving others, serve them well. If you are a teacher, do a good job of teaching. 8 If your gift is to encourage others, do it! If you have money, share it generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do it gladly. 9 Don’t just pretend that you love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Stand on the side of the good. 10 Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other. 11 Never be lazy in your work, but serve the Lord enthusiastically. 12 Be glad for all God is planning for you. Be patient in trouble, and always be prayerful. 13 When God’s children are in need, be the one to help them out. And get into the habit of inviting guests home for dinner or, if they need lodging, for the night. 14 If people persecute you because you are a Christian, don’t curse them; pray that God will bless them. 15 When others are happy, be happy with them. If they are sad, share their sorrow. 16 Live in harmony with each other. Don’t try to act important, but enjoy the company of ordinary people. And don’t think you know it all! 17 Never pay back evil for evil to anyone. Do things in such a way that everyone can see you are honorable. 18 Do your part to live in peace with everyone, as much as possible. 19 Dear friends, never avenge yourselves. Leave that to God. For it is written, “I will take vengeance; I will repay those who deserve it,” says the Lord. 20 Instead, do what the Scriptures say: “If your enemies are hungry, feed them. If they are thirsty, give them something to drink, and they will be ashamed of what they have done to you.” 21 Don’t let evil get the best of you, but conquer evil by doing good.

There’s so much to grasp from this chapter. But everything in this chapter is what this Church is based on. From verse 1 where Paul tells us to give our bodies to God as a holy sacrifice, all the way to verse 21 where he also tells to overcome evil by doing good and everything between. That’s why I feel like God chose this entire Chapter to base this Church on. I can not honestly read this chapter with out feeling a sense of conviction. Because, everyone says they live a life that is a “holy sacrifice” in their own eyes but Paul tears down their walls with “The kind he will accept”. These are just a few thoughts about this chapter and revelations God has opened my eyes to. But if you come Saturday night June 5th at 7 p.m. you can hear more.

And finally, the purpose of this church is the same purpose as any church. We want to strengthen or return Christians to their first love and reach the lost. We want to turn the world upside down starting with North Carolina.
